Key Lime Pie Protein Smoothie —> The solution to a nutritious breakfast when you are on the run.

 

Or when you just want a nutritious, sweet treat.  Your call.

 

I don’t know about you, but my mornings have been unusually hectic lately.  There hasn’t been much time for me to sit down and enjoy breakfast.  So, something quick, easy and portable is a must for me. Is there anything more portable and easy than a smoothie?  Toss it all in a blender, turn it on, and pour it into to-go cup.  Seems pretty simple.

 

PSA though, don’t forget to cover your blender your easy, nutritious breakfast will quickly turn into the morning from h***.

 

This week, I’ve been trying out plenty of new smoothie recipes.  I don’t like my breakfast to get too boring so changing it up is a must.  Additionally, the smoothie options are endless so you should never feel bored.  You can cover just about everything with a smoothie.  Sweet, zesty, or savory, the smoothie can do it.

 

 

And I may have picked up a million avocados since they were on sale this week.  Because, avocado. Everyone loves a good avocado.

 

Another reason I like smoothies so much is because you can pack in sooooo much nutrition!  It’s seriously like the easiest way to get some veggies into your morning meal.  You’ll get a little of everything out of this recipe.  My Key Lime Pie Protein Smoothie is a nice balance of complex carbs, protein, and healthy fats.  A whole avocado provide nearly 10 grams of fiber, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats.  Your protein powder will provide you with sustainable energy. Lastly, the spinach will give another dose of vitamins and minerals.

 

Like I said, perfect breakfast over here.

Key Lime Pie Protein Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons lime juice (juice of 1-2 limes)
  • 1/2 frozen avocado
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 5 ice cubes
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 graham cracker, crushed (optional)
Prep Time 5 minutes

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons lime juice (juice of 1-2 limes)
  • 1/2 frozen avocado
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 5 ice cubes
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 graham cracker, crushed (optional)
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to a blender with the exception of the graham cracker. Pulse until smooth and well combined. Top with crushed graham crackers and serve immediately.
