Jalapeño Lime Almond Dip

Jalapeño Lime Almond Dip

Football season is upon us! That means you need a good dip to serve up alongside your favorite team. Look no further, you’ve gotta try this Jalapeño Lime Almond Dip!

Football season is all about football and appetizers.  However, I’ve been feeling a bit left out. Over the last summer, I’ve struggled when it comes to snack foods. On my journey to clearer skin, most dips and appetizers miss the mark.  Fruit dips are filled with yogurt, chip dips are built of sour cream, and that buffalo dip surely has cream cheese.  It sure makes a girl feel left out!  I can’t be the only one.  Please tell me my other dairy-free peeps feel the same; being left out in the snack department sucks!

Every dairy-free, gluten-free girl deserves some dip for Sunday Night Football am I right?!

I give you –> Jalapeño Lime Almond Dip

As I’ve been testing out this lifestyle, I’ve come to rely on various nuts and seeds for a variety of dairy-free recipes.  Like this Vegan Cashew Cheese Sauce for instance.  After all, just like your favorite dairy product, the fat content of nuts and seeds provide a rich texture. When soaked and processed, they develop a perfect creaminess.

Quite honestly, I usually rely on cashews to do the heavy lifting.  You’ll probably find that in most dairy-free, dairy recipes.  Cashew cheese sauce, cashew cheesecake, cashew pudding…seems like cashews can do it all. But, not today.  Similarly to cashews, almonds will do the trick.

What’s my reason for this?  There isn’t one! Used up all my cashews and was simply too lazy to run to the store.  Don’t tell me you haven’t had those moments.  Instead, we improvise!

Fortunately for me, my house is stocked with all the dipables.  Is dipables even a word?  My favorites for this dip are celery sticks and my vault full of Siete Grain-Free Tortilla Chips. I’m especially a fan of the lime flavor chips for this dip.  Seriously, flavors on point!  I’ve even started using this Jalapeño Lime Almond Dip as a sandwich spread with turkey, avocado, and spinach.  The options are endless!

All I can do is pray there is still some left for the game on Sunday.
