Healthy Homemade Cranberry Sauce

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 2 apples, diced
  • zest of an orange
  • 1 whole orange, juiced
  • 2 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup stevia

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 2 apples, diced
  • zest of an orange
  • 1 whole orange, juiced
  • 2 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup stevia
Instructions
  1. Wash produce before using. Place cranberries and diced apples into a saucepan. Add the zest of one orange using a zester or grater.
  2. Cut orange in half and squeeze the juice of both halves over the fruit mixture. Then add the cinnamon sticks, honey, and stevia, stirring well.
  3. Cover the saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. When boiling, remove lid and reduce heat, allowing the mixture to simmer for 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a glass storage container and refrigerate until use.
Recipe Notes

This recipes maintains a slight bit of tartness. For a sweeter version, increase the stevia or honey by 1/4-1/2 cup, to taste.
